High-Level Journal Summary: Pleasure or pain? A slightly confused mix of excitement for this upcoming weekend and staying quite focused for my current 5th cycle of IV-based chemo. I have a surge of energy for what is coming, but I am trying my very best to stay quite focused on what must happen medically, first and foremost.

One of the many things I admire about you is your discipline and intelligent planning. You mentioned in today's entry that you take time to do brain tumor research. What I have found helpful is to list the words "Brain cancer" and "Glioblastoma" as Google alerts, so I get at least 2 compilations a day. 1.) IV-Based Chemotherapy (Carboplatin + VP-16)
• Up to 8 cycles may be possible, but it is based on overall toxicity.
• Cycles will last 21 or 28 days, based on cumulative impact. It began on 3/25/08.
• Cycle 4 of IV-based chemo starts on 6/3/08.

2.) Radiation
