Equipment used to process brain tumor tissue. When brain tumor tissue arrives at the lab, a long process must be applied in order to prepare the tissue for safekeeping and study. The brain tissue is put into a "tissue machine" which essentially removes water from the brain tissue. The net outcome from the "tissue machine" is brain tissue that is put into paraffin (wax). Next, there is a machine that can take incredibly thin shavings from this paraffin sample. Each slice is placed between 2 pieces of glass for observation.
